SJV Scholarship Sunday

The SJV Scholars Programs to benefit inner city children with a scholarship to attend an Archdiocesan High School is no longer in its infancy. To date, we have over 50 students who are either currently in our Scholars program or have completed high school and are now enrolled in college.

Through a special endowment we have been providing a quality education which has made an impactful difference in the lives of our scholars, their families and the greater Philadelphia community.

Our program is unique in that we have built a strong infrastructure to provide support to the children throughout their high school journey. Through the Connelly Foundation, we provide an academic counselor and PreSAT support, as well as other benefits. As a result of our scholars’ success, the local universities are placing our students on their radar for college scholarship opportunities. 

Our goal is simple: to provide an opportunity which can change the direction of our Scholars lives through a better education. We are off to a great start, and we ask for your support to ensure the program continues to thrive and grow. Each qualifying student receives a scholarship of $3,000 per year for 4 years. Often times, this is the critical difference for a family in deciding if their child can attend a Catholic high school.

As we expand the program, we ask you to consider a commitment to support the SJV Scholarship program with a contribution at one of levels listed below, or any other amount you wish to contribute.

Leighton Scholars  -  $3000 per year for 4 years

SJV Scholars   -  $1000 per year for 4 years
